The short answer: Under A.R.S. 44-5002, Arizona buyers can cancel a home solicitation sale until midnight of the third business day after signing, a mailed notice counts when it’s deposited in the mail, and any contract clause waiving that right is void. Business days exclude Sundays and federal holidays. Solar contractors are licensed by the Registrar of Contractors, and Arizona’s Consumer Fraud Act covers deceptive sales.

Cancelling a solar contract in Arizona

Arizona counts Saturdays as business days, so the window closes faster than many homeowners expect. You don’t need any special form; written notice showing you don’t intend to be bound is enough.

Arizona solar rules

Arizona’s Registrar of Contractors licenses solar installers and takes workmanship complaints. The Arizona Consumer Fraud Act prohibits deceptive sales practices and is enforced by the Attorney General.

How Arizona utilities credit solar

The Arizona Corporation Commission moved new solar customers of regulated utilities to export rates set below retail, and those rates can step down over time. Salt River Project sets its own rules. Many proposals assumed exported power would offset retail charges one-for-one.
