The short answer: Under G.S. 25A-39, North Carolina buyers can cancel a home solicitation sale until midnight of the third business day after signing, and a mailed notice counts when deposited in the mail. If the seller fails, through its own fault, to deliver within 30 days, the buyer can rescind later and get a full refund. North Carolina’s Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act allows treble damages.
