The short answer: Oklahoma’s Consumer Credit Code, 14A O.S. 2-502 and 2-503, gives buyers a right to cancel home solicitation sales and requires a notice under the caption “BUYER’S RIGHT TO CANCEL.” Until the seller complies with that requirement, the buyer may cancel. Oklahoma’s Consumer Protection Act also covers deceptive sales.
Look for the BUYER’S RIGHT TO CANCEL caption in your solar paperwork. If it isn’t there, Oklahoma law lets you cancel until the seller complies.
The Oklahoma Consumer Protection Act prohibits deceptive trade practices, and the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Unit takes complaints.
Oklahoma utilities and cooperatives set their own terms for exported power, and many credit it below retail. Compare your bills with what you were promised.
